Doctor Doom - Game Master & Player
I first heard about Dungeons and Dragons in 1983. I was in third grade and
saw many of the other children playing the game in the school yard. I didnt actually get to play the game until 1988 when
a friend of mine invited me to play a game. I made a barbarian from the newly
made Unearthred Arcana named Conan the Barbarian. From that moment on I was hooked.
For the next few years I played with my cousins and in the Boy Scouts. There was no continuity and almost every game that
I ran, they played new characters. The years went by and my brother went into high school. He overheard some friend talking
about D&D and he said that I ran the game. For the next few days afterward he begged and pleaded that I run for his friends.
I was 24 at the time and felt kind of awkward running for a couple of 16 year old kids, but I finally caved and agreed to
go.I kicked open the card board box I had in the attic that housed my DMG, Players handbook and Monster Manual and the only
adventure I owned named The Haunted Halls of Evening Star. I meet the kids and they made characters. A thief, a barbarian
and a mage where what they chose to play, but Little did I know that we would be playing for all these years. In about 1998
the group decided to call itself The Psycho Gamers. We had a member in the group we called Psycho Bob and sometimes I would
say Psycho Bob and the Psycho Gamers and the name fit. 9 years have gone
by and the group is still going strong. Out of the four that have started the group, 3 of the original members are still gaming.
The group has switched from second edition Dungeons and Dragons to Hackmaster after 2nd edition was no longer in
print. We all joined the Hackmaster Association in 2002 and are anxious for the day when we will be able to compete in a tournament.
Black Widows Bio
I grew up in England, in the county of Essex. My family and I moved to America when I was 10. We lived first with my sister
in New York and then with an aunt who was living in San Francisco. In 1986, we moved to Montclair California and I have been
living in the Inland Empire ever since. I have always loved fantasy and science fiction novels. The first book I ever read
was "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and I have been hooked ever since. I read "The Sleeping Dragon"
by Joel Rosenberg in Junior High. For those of you who don't know, it's about some college students who are gamers. It turns
out that their Dungeon Master is actually from the world that he is running his campaign on. This was my first introduction
to the world of gaming. Then in High School, I found out one of my friend's cousins gamed occasionally and I asked if I could
game with them. I joined their group and created my first character, a half elf-thief named Taswind Lightfingers. I gamed
with them sporadically for a couple of years, but after a while the group broke drifted apart. After High School, I started
working in the library where I met Doctor Doom. He struck me as the gaming type so I asked him if he had ever read any Forgotten
Realms novels (I didn't want to look like a big dork.) It turned out the he was a gamer and we became fast friends. I started
gaming with the Psycho Gamers in 2000 and have been gaming with them ever since. I am engaged to Doctor Doom.
